Visit to Ely Cathedral & Oliver Cromwell's House
Thursday 14 June 2018

Ely Cathedral is acknowledged as one of the Wonders of the Medieval World. After tea/coffee on arrival, there will be guided tours (in groups) of the ground floor, giving an insight into the history and architecture of this remarkable building.

The Cathedral also houses a stained-glass museum, exhibiting items dating from the 13th century to the present day, and there will be an optional visit (at extra cost) for a maximum of 30 people. Please be aware that access to the museum is via a stone staircase with handrail (about 40 steps). For those not wishing to do this, a virtual guide on the ground floor is available.

After a break for lunch (not included but eating places will be suggested on arrival), we reconvene at Oliver Cromwell’s House, 2 minutes’ walk from the Cathedral, for a costumed guided tour in groups.

This visit is sold out.  Waiting list enquiries to Heather Steere or
